Sapphire Garage started 25 years ago as a small trading estate unit – but it grew to occupy the whole two-acre site.
In its Silver Jubilee year the independently owned business is now a national benchmark for accident repair centres - approved by manufacturers including Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Renault and with a collection of national industry awards.
Now, the new three-acre state-of-the-art bodyshop, beside the A62 two miles east of Manchester city centre adds up to one of the largest, most advanced, purpose-built vehicle accident repair operations in the country.
An average of 90 repairs are handled each week from 32,000 square feet of workspace with 75 working bays, four body jigs and five spray booths – including two commercial booths for high vehicles.
There are 70 available courtesy cars, four recovery vehicles and the staff of 62 includes an onsite glass specialist – so no work is sub-contracted out.
